HOW SHOULD YOU SEPARATE THE PACKAGING OF MEDINFAR GROUP PRODUCTS?
You must hand over the following products to the pharmacy or parapharmacy in the Valormed container:
- Medicines for Human Use;
- Veterinary Medicines;
- Products for Veterinary Use.
These products must be handed over at a pharmacy or parapharmacy in their own Valormed containers. This prevents soil and water contamination and ensures the correct treatment of this waste.

You must dispose of the packaging of the following products at the correct ecopoint:
- Cosmetics;
- Food Supplements;
- Medical devices;
- Biocides.
The packaging for these products must be separated and disposed of at the correct ecopoint, depending on the material. By disposing of it at the ecopoint, you are introducing the packaging into the Integrated Packaging Waste Management System (IWMS) of the Sociedade Ponto Verde, whose main objective is to recover packaging waste.

Glass Bottles
You are recommended to dispose of the packaging with the lid at the green ecopoint.
Plastic Tubes, Bottles or Jars
You are recommended to dispose of the packaging with the lid at the yellow ecopoint.
Plastic Bottles with Dispenser or Sprayer
You are recommended to dispose of the packaging at the yellow ecopoint. If you have a dispenser or sprayer, separate them and dispose of them both at the yellow ecopoint.
Blisters
You are recommended to separate the blister from the box and only dispose of the blister at the yellow ecopoint (and the box at the blue ecopoint).
Plastic Ampoules
You are recommended to separate the plastic ampoules from the box and place only the ampoules at the yellow ecopoint (and the box at the blue ecopoint).
Cardboard Boxes and Information Leaflets
You are recommended to dispose of flat cardboard boxes and information leaflets at the blue ecopoint.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Medinfar is actively working to improve its product packaging to reduce waste, facilitate recycling and lessen the environmental impact. With this in mind, it has been implementing the following actions:
- Improved weight/content ratio, reducing material usage;
- Disposal of superfluous packaging, promoting more efficient solutions;
- Use of materials with greater potential for recycling and recovery;
- Use of recycled raw materials or materials with sustainable management certification;
- Qualitative improvement of packaging, minimising its environmental impact.

ADVANTAGES OF SEPARATING
Saving Energy
Making materials from waste consumes less energy than making them from virgin raw materials. Many of the energy resources we save are non-renewable energy sources, such as oil. By recycling packaging, we are making it possible to produce new materials using less energy, avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.
Saving Natural Resources
By deploying used packaging as secondary raw materials, we are saving virgin raw materials. In this way we postpone mining, felling trees and extracting oil.
Reducing Waste
The less waste ends up in a landfill, the longer its working life will be. If we all do our part, we can increase the lifespan of landfills, avoiding the need to build new landfills in places that could be used in other ways by the population.
By disposing of packaging at the correct ecopoints, you contribute to greater efficiency in the waste management chain: better collection, better sorting and more recycling.
