Treatment of acute diarrhea symptoms. Reduces bowel movements and secretions.

Indications

Loride® is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of sudden (acute) diarrhea. It is recommended for a short period only (no more than 2 days).

Posology

Recommended dose for adults and children over the age of 12: take 2 tablets as a starting dose and then 1 tablet after each diarrheal episode, up to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours. The tablets should be swallowed with plenty of water. Treatment should be stopped as soon as stools become less watery. Do not take this medicine for prolonged periods (more than 2 days), or exceed the recommended doses. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to loperamide or any of the other components of the tablets;
  • If diarrhea is accompanied by bloody stools or a high fever (over 38ºC);
  • If you suffer from pseudomembranous colitis associated with antibiotic treatment;
  • If you suffer from acute ulcerative colitis;
  • If you suffer from severe liver failure;
  • If you suffer from intestinal disorders where it is necessary to avoid inhibiting intestinal peristalsis, such as constipation, acute or chronic intestinal occlusion and flatulence (gas).

Do not take this medicine for any purpose other than its intended purpose and never take more than the recommended dose. Serious heart problems (the symptoms of which include an irregular or rapid heartbeat) have been reported in patients who have taken too much loperamide, the active substance in Loride®.

Important

Children under the age of 12 should not take LORIDE® unless recommended by a doctor.

LORIDE is an OTC antidiarrheal drug that contains Loperamide as an active substance. Indications: Indicated for the treatment of symptoms of sudden (acute) diarrhea.
