For dry and/or irritating cough, fast-acting syrup (25-30 m) after administration. Peach flavoured, sugar-free and suitable for diabetics. Recommended for children aged 6 years or older, adolescents and adults.

Indications

Tussican® is an antitussive medication, containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide (3 mg/ml) as an active substance, recommended for dry and irritating cough.

Posology

The recommended dose is:

  • Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml, 3 to 4 times a day.
  • Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5 ml, 3 to 4 times a day.

Not recommended for children under the age of 6. For the elderly or persons with liver or kidney disease, dose should be halved. Treatment should be as short as possible (3 to 5 days).

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you (a) are allergic (hypersensitive) to dextromethorphan bromide or any other ingredient of this medicine; (b) have severe breathing problems such as respiratory depression; (c) have bronchial asthma; (d) have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; (e) have pneumonia; (f) take certain medicines used to treat depression; (g) drink alcohol; (h) are breastfeeding; (i) are in the first three months of pregnancy. Children under the age of 6 years should not take Tussican®.
